I welcome you
and thank you for choosing me as your instructor. My goal is to help you attain your highest potential as a rider, whilst having fun along the way. Smiling is encouraged, even on cloudy days.

Lessons are very limited as Janice is now focusing more time on Training horses and teaching training skills. Lesson locations vary, but are typically close to the Cypress area off 290. We do have a Tomball location as well.

Typical lessons are 30 minutes long. The lesson includes tack adjustment, exercises, and a 5 minute cool-down or "walk-out" period. The exercises are extremely beneficial in developing the main physical attributes which constitute a good rider. These being; a supple spine, balance, and development of the upper thigh muscle. The exercises develop a rider much quicker that just riding alone does.

The walk-out period is, in my opinion, one of the most important aspects of the lesson, especially for those who do not own their own horse. This gives you an opportunity to relax WITH the horse, without the pressure of someone watching every move you make. You are able to relax, develop more self-reliance (I am not in the ring for guidance), and "bond" more with the horse. Additionally, your brain and the cells in your body will integrate more fully what was just learned if it is directly followed by a relaxed state of being.
Lessons are scheduled and paid for on a monthly basis. If you miss a lesson for any reason (illness, holiday, etc.), you may make that lesson up at any time.

Lessons start on time. If you are fifteen minutes late, you will have missed that portion of your lesson. Lessons MUST be cancelled no later than the night before the lesson is scheduled, or you will be charged for that lesson. As you all know, in the event of an emergency or sudden illness, I am willing to work with you.
I
thank you again for choosing me as your riding instructor. I am honored by your decision. Please know that I am always available for discussion about your lesson plan.
